UP: Woman burns husband alive in Kasganj; victim's father accuses her of extramarital affair

Kasganj: In a shocking incident reported from Kasganj district of Uttar Pradesh, a woman in collusion with her paramour and other family members killed her husband.

The victim identified as 25-year-old Amit Kumar succumbed to his injuries during treatment on Sunday. The incident took place in Paharpur village under Soroan police station in Kasganj.

The victim's father has filed an FIR against his daughter-in-law and three other men including her father.

The body of the victim was sent for post-mortem. Police say they have arrested one accused in connection with the murder.

It is alleged that the accused left Amit outside his house after he was set on fire after he was doused with diesel.

Suresh Chandra, the victim's father told police that his son was taken away from his house to a brick kiln by his friend Hemant at around 6.30 on Saturday.

Later, Amit was found unconscious with severe burn injuries.

Suresh Chandra further alleged that Amit's wife Sangeeta was having an extra-marital affair with one Rakesh.

Chandra said that before his death, Amit told him that Sangeeta, Hemant and Rakesh poured diesel on him and set him ablaze.

"Based on the complaint by Amit's father, we have filed a case against Sangeeta, her father Ram Swaroop, Hemant Jatav and Rakesh under Section 302 (murder) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Rakesh is arrested and the other accused will be arrested soon. We are probing the case further," a report in the news agency IANS quoted Aditya Verma, Additional Superintendent of Police, as saying.
