Jharkhand: Denied leave by seniors, bank employee reaches work with oxygen support

RANCHI: In an unusual incident taking place at Bokaro, a bank employee, after being denied leave by his seniors reached his workplace with oxygen support along with his family members.

The incident took place at Sector 4 branch of Punjab National Bank, where the family members alleged that despite the fact that Arvind Kumar has recovered from COVID-19 but his lungs are still infected due to which he is on oxygen support at home but the bank officials are pressurizing him to join office.

"When the bank officials did not consider his leave application, he even submitted his resignation, which was also rejected. Now, they are threatening to cut his salary due to which he was forced to come to work with oxygen support," said one of the family members who accompanied him to the bank.

With no other option left, he was forced to join office with oxygen support on Monday, he added.

Kumar, however, was asked to go home after a high voltage drama was created by family members in the bank. Meanwhile, the bank officials refrained from speaking anything on the issue.
