Bengaluru: Domestic help who went missing after robbery arrested, jewellery worth Rs 18 lakh seized

Bengaluru: A domestic help in Karnataka capital Bengaluru was arrested by the North division police on charges of stealing jewellery from her employer's house and absconding.

The helper, identified as Pushpa, who was a resident of Andhra Pradesh, came to the IT hub looking for jobs in the month of June. In a bid to make ends meet, she started working in few houses in Yeshwantpur.

During the investigation, one of her employers stated that Pushpa started working at their home on June 1. Surprisingly, when they checked their cupboards, they were shocked to see that the gold jewellery was missing.

House help did not show up for work after robbery

The house help did not even show up for work on June 11 and when they asked about her with people in the neighbourhood, they had no clue about her whereabouts. On suspicion of theft, they approached the north division police to lodge a complaint.

A thorough search operation was conducted to nab the accused at the earliest. The cops finally got hold of her and managed to seize gold jewellery worth Rs 18 lakh from her possession.

A thorough interrogation into the case revealed that the woman was involved in the crime of stealing jewellery for the past two months. Further, the woman has been taken into custody in connection with this case.
